Against Abuse, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals and the community to understand the nature and effects of family violence and the resources available to meet the needs of those abused.  In addition, they take a proactive role in providing a family-focused, culturally sensitive continuum of prevention and intervention services to individuals and families in need of services.

CHALLENGE #20 - 2018

WICHITA FAMILY CRISIS CENTER 
Wichita, Kansas

****CHALLENGE COMPLETED**** 

“The Wichita Family Crisis Center has been changing lives and empowering victims of domestic violence since 1976.  Formerly known as the YWCA Wichita–Women’s Crisis Center, the organization has served more than 20,000 victims of domestic violence in the last 40 years.  The Center provides comprehensive services for victims of sexual and domestic violence and sexual exploitation with the intent of increasing safety for victims, increasing accountability for perpetrators, and creating a community environment that recognizes these issues and works to prevent future occurrences.”  

The WFCC is a repeat shelter for The Pink Slipper Project, having done a challenge for them in 2014.  They said they would love to have more slippers and washcloths from us!

CHALLENGE #19 - 2018

From their website: “For over 43 years, Prudence Crandall Center has been a leader in our state’s efforts to reduce the devastating impact of domestic violence in the lives of victims, their children, and our community.  Today, PCC is one of only a few programs in the country offering the full spectrum of shelter, housing and support services needed to offer practical, long-term solutions to the challenges faced by victims, helping them heal and move forward to safe, self-sufficient lives, free of violence.  We also provide professional trainings, prevention programs for youth, and outreach to raise awareness, reach victims in need, and prevent violence in the future.  Through all of our programs and services, we touch the lives of 8,000 adults and children each year throughout our region and state.” 



PCC has limited storage capacity.  With the exception of the Women’s and Men/Teen Boys,  please make the remaining sizes in colors suitable for either a boy or girl to wear. Thank You!
