CHALLENGE #30 - 2018

CLAUDIA HOUSE - SURVIVORS, INC.
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

****CHALLENGE COMPLETED****

“Survivors Inc. began when a group of local women came together to provide support and discussion as a result of their shared individual experiences with violence.  Recognizing an unmet need, they mobilized and formed Survivors, Inc.  They grew with the support and funding of their community and related organizations, adding much-needed services, including a 24-hour hotline, staffing and volunteers.  Survivors, Inc. continues to meet the needs of those affected by domestic and sexual violence in an empowering, client-centered and driven manner.”

We’d like to support them by sending the following, including Cozies for their pets:

Pet blankets can be crocheted, knitted or sewn. If crocheted/knitted, it’s best to use several strands of #4 yarn or a bulky/super bulky yarn and a tight stitch to make a dense fabric. If sewing, use a sturdy, washable fabric, such as denim, flannel, heavy cotton and add a layer of batting in between fabric layers. Please run one or two rows of stitching across the blanket to keep the batting in place when washed.
