The Kodiak Women’s Resource Crisis Center is located on Kodiak Island 250 miles south

of Anchorage. Mail is flown in and a ferry brings people, cars and freight. Most of the freight

is taken to the island twice a week. The largest Coast Guard Base in the world is located on

Kodiak Island.
