Established in 1985, Hope’s Door in Plano housed domestic abuse victims in community hotels until their shelter opened in 1989. Hope’s Door also has a shelter in Garland, TX, and in 2017, the shelters housed 573 adults and children. PSP would like to show our support and send the following:

Morehead, Kentucky

DOVES (Domestic Violence Emergency Services) serves six counties in Kentucky with a 28-bed emergency shelter. In addition to the domestic violence shelter, they offer a help line, case management, counseling, assistance in finding housing, and legal advocacy. DOVES is a repeat shelter for PSP as we sent slippers and washcloths in August of 2018. The shelter would like more so let’s send the following:

“Bethany House eliminates domestic violence one family at a time by assisting victims through our emergency shelter.” It provides temporary housing for four months with a two-year Aftercare program. Bethany House has an established track record of successfully addressing the needs of victims of domestic violence and their children since 1979.

Challenge #55-2019

CHALLENGE #55-2019 is complete!

CHILDREN’S INN
Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Established in 1893, Children’s Home Society is South Dakota’s oldest human services, nonprofit organization and served as the state’s primary orphanage and adoption agency for more than 70 years. In 1977, Children’s Inn opened to provide emergency shelter for women and children who were victims of domestic violence, child abuse, and neglect. Children’s Inn and Children’s Home Society merged in 1998 and they serve families, individuals, and children of all ages who are victims of domestic violence, abuse and/or neglect, or traumatic life events. This is a repeat shelter for PSP. They are interested in receiving more slippers!
