CHALLENGE #35-2021 IS COMPLETE!

CHALLENGE #35-2021

Harmony House

Springfield, Missouri

"We truly appreciate your support and your kind hearts to take the time to do this for us."
Started by a concerned group of community members in 1976, Harmony House has been providing shelter and support services to domestic violence survivors ever since. They have impacted the lives of the 20,462 women, men and children who have been served to date.
The center began as a grassroots all-volunteer organization with the first survivors being sheltered in volunteers’ homes and area hotels, then in rented shelter homes.  In 2017, Harmony House moved into a new facility in Springfield expanding capacity from 110 to 168 beds making it the largest dv shelter in Missouri.

CHALLENGE #33-2021 IS COMPLETE!!

CHALLENGE #33-2021

Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services

Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Christine Ann is a repeat shelter for us and they have enjoyed everything they have received.  Although they don't have a pet program, they do have a shelter dog, Ross.  He is well loved by everyone and he especially enjoyed receiving the blanket that was made just for him and got very excited about it.  That means we'll send him a nice new one!  Christine Ann incorporates knitting and crocheting in their self-care support group.  This group is a wonderful place for their clients to focus on themselves and find different ways to care for themselves physically and mentally. Knitting and crocheting definitely fits into that category.  We are all very aware of the benefits received from picking up our own needles and hooks.
