COZIES CHALLENGE COMPLETED!
COZIES FOR PETS #3 OF 2016 has been COMPLETED! Thanks, everyone, for your pledges! We have so many pet lovers and owners in our group that these challenges always go quickly.
It always saddens me to think about all of the wonderful pets that sometimes have to be left behind to suffer abuse because DV victims are not always allowed to bring pets to the shelters. However, more and more, we are seeing that shelters across the US are recognizing that many victims won't leave if it means leaving beloved pets behind to possibly be abused after they are gone. KUDOS to all these shelters that now have facilities on site or programs in place to foster or adopt these pets! (Judy)

CHALLENGE COMPLETED!
Thanks to our last few pledges from Carrie Brewer, Linda Westby, and Jan Oswald, we have now completed our 8th challenge of 2016! This one went along very quickly.
I need to double-check with Rachel, but I think we still need to do a Cozies for Pets challenge for the Gateway Battered Women's Services shelter in Aurora, Colorado (challenge #7). If so, we will put it up soon.

We finished up 2015 with our 40th challenge - for Friends Against Abuse in International Falls, Minnesota. Everyone was very busy getting ready for the holidays and we decided to take a little break at the Pink Slipper Project. By late December, we were ready to gear up for the new year with our first new challenge for 2016.
We have already finished seven (7) new slipper and washcloth challenges for 2016, plus three (3) Cozies for Pets and two (2) Happy Hands challenges for several of the shelters who allowed pets at the shelter and/or an arts/crafts program with crocheting and knitting opportunities. These challenges were all posted and pledged on our Facebook page.
So far in 2016, we have done challenges for:
If you would like to make a pledge, please place it in a comment on the challenge post and we will get it. There is a Sizing Chart in the right-hand column that will give you the approximate size of the slippers in each category. Crocheted or knitted washcloths should be made with cotton yarn (not acrylic), 7" - 10", any colors. Use any patterns you wish.
Each challenge will include a "mail by" date and the address where you should send your items once you have made them.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask us!
