***NEW*** CHALLENGE #16 - 2016

SAFE NEST
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA

****CHALLENGE COMPLETED****

Safe Nest was opened in 1978 with 12 beds. Today 39 years later, they are the largest - with 70 beds - and the most comprehensive domestic violence program in Nevada.
All shelters rely on donations from the public to maintain the level of service. Donations can be in any form. They all love money, of course. Many shelters have a Wish List on their website of items that are needed such as laundry detergent to socks. I often see slippers and washcloths.

If you live in the Las Vegas area, you have likely seen purple and white donation bins. They belong to Safe Nest and have been placed throughout the Las Vegas Valley area. They are emptied on a regular basis and have proven to be a very effective method to increase donations.

So, today, we are going to make a donation to Safe Nest. Our donation will provide warmth for toes of all sizes and we hope they help warm the soul as well.

So let's get busy and make a pledge to Safe Nest:

 75 women - DONE

   5 teen boys - DONE

 10 preteen girls - DONE

Hi, Bernadette, thank you for your pledge of 10 washcloths. Are you a member of Pink Slipper? May I have a last name or would you prefer not to give it? Either way is fine. If you'd like to see what is going on, etc., please join us on our Facebook page. We all communicate with each other there. www.facebook.com/ThePinkSlipperProject. Pledges can be made there too. Again, thank you, and I hope we'll you visit again. We usually have 1 shelter each week. Rachel Terrill

I see there is still a need for slippers for women and boys, but the May 31 deadline has passed. Could I still send slippers? I don't want to make a commitment if they no longer want them.

I would also like a follow-up email, please.
